At Tandem Pediatrics, we are passionate about helping children build communication, feeding, and developmental skills they need for everyday life. We believe support should be personal, practical, and centered around the real routines and relationships that matter most to each family.

Founded by Marina Saunders, M.S., CCC-SLP, CLC, Tandem Pediatrics was created to offer families a more individualized experience than traditional models often allow. Private services make it possible to focus on the child in front of us, not just insurance requirements or whether a child formally “qualifies” for services. Many children benefit from extra support in areas that impact their daily lives, and our goal is to step in early, provide meaningful guidance, and help families feel confident in how to support their child.

We provide services in the home whenever possible to create a more natural, comfortable environment for children and families. This setting often allows children to feel more at ease, gives therapists the opportunity to target skills within real-life routines, and helps therapy feel more functional and relevant. We also value longer sessions, which allow children time to warm up, build trust, and participate more fully while ensuring families feel supported, heard, and included every step of the way.

At Tandem Pediatrics, we know that flexibility matters. We strive to offer scheduling options that work with parents’ jobs, childcare needs, and busy family life so support feels accessible rather than overwhelming. Our mission is to empower children in their communication and feeding skills while equipping caregivers with the knowledge and confidence to carry that progress into everyday moments.

With knowledge, skill, and heart, Tandem Pediatrics is proud to serve children and families in some of our rural WV communities by providing compassionate, family-centered care that helps children thrive. Teletherapy services are also an option to possibly reach those in communities around WV not local to the Putnam County area.

Upcoming Events:
FREE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENTAL SCREENINGS!

Join us in August (exact date TBD) at We Rock the Spectrum in Huntington, WV for free developmental screenings for children ages 0-5. Speech-language, feeding, occupational, and physical therapy professionals will be available to provide screenings. This opportunity is a great way to help families learn more about their child's development and if they would benefit from support in any of the areas screened.
